School Improvement

[Pictured: From the '21-'22 school year archives, Kindergarteners get ready to put Mr. Galligan in a dunk tank following the school population exceeding educational goals on district diagnostics that year. Goals were also exceeded on district diagnostics in SY '22-'23 and SY '23-'24!]

RIDE requires all schools across the state to submit a yearly "School Improvement Plan" through their district superintendent each June. This is considered a 'living document' and is reviewed frequently by each school's Improvement Team. The Warwick Neck School Improvement Team is composed of faculty, staff, parents, and community stakeholders who reflect and respond to accountability data. You can view our School Improvement Plan for 2024-2025 using the link at the end of this article below.

Parents, Guardians, Families, and Community Stakeholders of all backgrounds are invited to join the Warwick Neck Leadership Team to help continuously drive improvement at our school over the next year in the School improvement Team (SIT)!

Time Commitment: The amount of time you commit is, not necessarily based upon the roles selected, but based largely at your own discretion. No one is bound by a particular schedule or time frame and every effort is made to accommodate the busy schedules of parents, families, and other members --- Every member, and every little bit, helps our children and our school!

Join the School Improvement Team (SIT)!

-- Meetings are very helpful to our school leadership team in getting various perspectives and forming action plans together on how we can move Warwick Neck School forward. Items range from Attendance Data, RICAS and District Diagnostic Test Scores (Math and English Language Arts) to Survey Works (Student and Family Quality of life at WNS Results), Classroom Instructional Initiatives (approaches to new or ongoing curricula, etc), our PTA, community engagement - and many other factors to consider.

-- The School Improvement Team continuously adds to or revises the Warwick Neck Elementary School Improvement Plan (a plan required of all RI Public Schools). Once again, the ‘Plan’ is considered to be a "living document" and the foundation for agreed upon areas in need of improvement, followed by measurable action plans and initiatives to drive positive change at Warwick Neck School.

-- Meetings are held monthly online and involve member from all different sectors of the school community.

-- If you are interested in joining, please complete the interest and availability form here.

If you have further questions or would like additional information, please email our Principal, Mr. Galligan. As always, our children are the beneficiaries of whatever we accomplish together!
