The following was sent to the community via email from our Principal, Mr. Galligan, at 2:17 PM on Monday, September 23, 2024:
Dear Warwick Neck Families,
Please note the following updates, since last Thursday’s “Weekly Wildcat” was sent out, regarding the week ahead:
1.) The Feinstein Program at Warwick Neck School
-- As you may know, we are a proud Feinstein Leadership School. As part of our affiliation with the Feinstein Foundation, each child receives a “Golden Ticket” that will be coming home in their backpacks today, along with a "Feinstein Jr. Scholar' Card.
-- The “Golden Ticket” program is announced each Monday during the 4PM newscast on WPRI 12 (CBS affiliate) for the remainder of this school year. If your child’s Golden Ticket number is called, please let us know since Warwick Neck School will receive a $5,000 grant to benefit the students here -- as well as $500 towards the charity of the winning child’s choice!!
-- The “Feinstein Jr. Scholar Card” designates your child as an official member of the Feinstein Program and offers them free admission to various entertainment venues (Mystic Aquarium, Slater Park Carousel, etc.) and other great incentives. See the back of your Feinstein Jr. Scholar card for more information.
2.) Cereal Drive – Ends this Week!
-- As part of our ongoing effort to do good deeds, and in partnership with our PTA, we are holding a Cereal Drive through this Thursday, Sept. 26th.
-- The class that brings in the most unopened boxes of cereal by Thursday, Sept. 26th will win a pizza party donated by Domino’s Pizza on Warwick Avenue!
3.) Mum Order Pick-Up – This Wednesday!
-- If you ordered mums as part of Wildcat Mum Mania Fundraiser, they may be picked up (in back of the school, off Rocky Point Avenue) on Wednesday, September 25th.
-- We are waiting on a confirmation of an exact time from the delivery truck, but we anticipate being ready to-go (in back of the school, off Rocky Point Avenue) no later than mid/late-morning.
-- A text and email alert will go out to the community once things are prepared for distribution on Wednesday morning and we will remain on the school property (off Rocky Point Avenue) until 4 PM for mum order pick-ups.
4.) Monster Mash & Trunk-Or-Treat Family Evening – Important Update!
-- Unfortunately, we had to scale back family programming this year with the elimination of “Pumpkin Palooza” (formerly known as ‘Harvest Fest’ at Warwick Neck) due to limited parent volunteer or event help.
-- This event was usually held in late-September and early-October. Events such as these cannot be quickly thrown together at this point and require help from many people to be safe and successful. Therefore, we are now focusing our attention to maintaining future events: in particular our family Halloween event, Winter Fest, and more for the remainder of the year, however we cannot do it alone.
-- If you are able and willing to help in any way with the Halloween event – small or big – please consider joining our planning meeting ONLINE this Thursday, September 26th 6-7 PM. Meeting and joining information is currently posted to the school website and was sent via email to all families last Friday. Thank you!
Have a great week,
-- Mr. Galligan
