Bucket Drummers

As the calendar changes to June, fun and learning are still underway in full-force at Warwick Neck! Parents, guardians, and families are encouraged to check their email for Mr. Galligan's most recent Weekly Wildcat that outlines the remaining two and half weeks of school.

As a friendly reminder to all, we have provided an overview 'snapshot' below:

Monday, June 3rd: The RI Bucket Drummers (Pictured above, visiting Warwick Neck in June, 2022) make their return to our school outside for a fun, interactive performance with students this morning! The event is being held, outdoors, with respect to avoiding unideal indoor acoustics and supporting students with sensory challenges.

As a result of the event being outside, ALL parents, guardians, and families are asked to ensure that their children are dressed in cool clothing, hats, and sunscreen. As always, with the warmer temperatures, please ensure your child has a refillable water bottle for Monday and the remining days of school to stay cool and hydrated. Thank you!

Tuesday, June 4th: Warwick Neck's 2024 Field Day is underway, after being postponed from last week due to rain and unsafe field conditions! All students will be provided a field day lunch, free of charge thanks to generosity and funding from the PTA. Sturdy shoes, cool clothing, and refillable water bottles are advised for students on this day. Have questions, or need a refresher, about the lunch choices, volunteer needs, and other essentials relating to the day? Click here.

Join us for the All-City Instrumental Concert being showcased at Warwick Veterans Middle School this evening, featuring student performers from Warwick Neck! Doors open at 6PM, with the concert starting at 7 PM. The event's official flyer has been attached here for reference.

Wednesday, June 5th: Did You Know!? Students in Grades 4 and 5 are allowed to ride bikes to - and lock/store them on the property - in Warwick! (Additionally, there is a law requiring all children under 14 to wear helmets when riding a bike in RI.) To better support our students with health and safety, Representative Solomon is visiting, with colleagues in RI government, for a special assembly with Grades 4 & 5 this afternoon to present free helmets and safety tips to ALL students in these grades. Welcome, Representative Solomon, to Warwick Neck School - and thank you for your generosity!

Thursday, June 6th: Our student chorus and instrumentalists in Grades 4 & 5 will be performing for parents, guardians, and families at 10 AM in the All Purpose Room of Warwick Neck School. (A school-based performance for students and teachers in other grades will take place at 2PM that afternoon in the All Purpose Room.)

Friday, June 7th: Those students who have worked with mentors from Mentor RI will enjoy a pizza lunch and year-end party with their mentors in the school library between 12 PM and 1PM. Students attending the party will complete a craft over the coming days that will be presented as a gift of thanks to their mentors on Friday.
