Warwick Neck School is excited to welcome a team of volunteers, all established business professionals in the Warwick Community, trained and working through Junior Achievement RI on Friday, February 16th for a day of learning and hands-on activities during the entirety of the regular school day.
The lessons taught by Junior Achievement RI focus upon understanding business and economics, with the following topics taught in a manner tailored to the grade-level’s age and understanding:
Grade K: “Ourselves” – Students will learn about using money to meet their needs and wants, along with learning how to earn, save, and share money.
Grade 1: “Our Families” – Students will explore the ways businesses provide goods, services, and jobs for their families.
Grade 2: “Our Community” – Students will learn about work readiness and how citizens benefit from and contribute to a community’s success.
Grade 3: “Our City” – Introduces students to the choices people have with money. Students will learn the importance of economic exchange in a city and how entrepreneurs promote a healthy economy.
Grade 4: “More than Money” and “Our Region” – Students will learn about money management, making smart financial decisions, and how entrepreneurs use resources to produce goods and services in a region.
Grade 5: “Our Nation” – Students will learn practical information about the 21st century job market, particularly high growth and high-demand jobs.
