Graduation for the 5th Grade Class of 2023 will take place on Tuesday, June 20th at 10 AM in back of Warwick Neck School (weather permitting). If rain threatens, it will be moved indoors to the school’s All Purpose Room.
About the event:
1.) The graduation (commonly referred to as the “moving on”) ceremony, will be tentatively held outside in back of Warwick Neck Elementary School. It will feature four (4) student speakers, an address from the Principal, song selections, and conferral of academic diplomas.
2.) There is a limit of four (4) reserved seats per family due to space restrictions. Standing room is available on the lawn in back for those who wish to bring blankets or additional chairs. Logistical changes, including those relating to inclement weather, will be relayed as soon as possible prior to the event.
3.) Given that it is planned to be held outdoors, please anticipate and dress for climate fluctuations and summery conditions even in the nicest weather during the late-morning hour. Students are encouraged to wear clean, appropriate attire that aligns with what one would wear to a "Semi-Formal" dance as this event celebrates their achievements and a very special milestone in their lives. Expensive suits, overly elaborate dresses, or similar attire are not necessary for this event.
4.) Students should arrive to school on graduation day at the regular start time (between 8:45 and 9AM) and report to the designated morning assembly location.
5.) The graduation program is expected to last approximately one (1) hour. Students and families are free to depart immediately following the program and any pictures taken at its conclusion. This means, you should plan for a 11:30 AM arrival back to restaurants or homes for any celebratory luncheons. Students are also welcome to remain at school and undertake un-graded, enrichment assignments.
