Warwick Neck School is celebrating reading with a weeklong series of events from April 17-20th to promote excitement and interest in Grades Kindergarten through 5!
Mystery readers, special surprises, and various activities below will make for a great week thanks to our librarian, Mrs. Chapman, and our reading specialist, Mrs. Renzi.
Monday, April 17 – Read-A-Shirt Day!
Koda the service dog visits with her caretaker, Mrs. Blue, to read a story about the important help she offers each day. Also, wear your Feinstein t-shirt or any shirt with appropriate school words on it for everyone to read!
Tuesday, April 18 – Jungle Animal Day!
Each classroom chooses a jungle animal to research today. Most grades will decorate their doors with facts about the animals they researched so other classes can then view them and undertake a “jungle walk” through the school on Thursday.
Wednesday, April 19 – Wildcat Wednesday, Ice Cream Social & Family Book Fair
Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to wear school colors of blue and yellow, or other wildcat gear to show Warwick Neck pride today! Also, all families are invited to have some ice cream and buy a “wild” book at the Scholastic Book Fair during the evening from 6-7:30 PM.
Thursday, April 20 – Flashlight Thursday!
Let’s read a “wild” book by flashlight today! Either bring in your favorite book or choose a book to read in school! Flashlights will be provided to all children that they can keep as a souvenir! Also, URI basketball players will be coming to Warwick Neck to read to all classrooms!
Please note there is NO SCHOOL on Friday, April 20th in observance of Eid-al-Fitr.
