On Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, in their inaugural competition in the Rhode Island interscholastic First Tech Challenge held at the Wheeler School, The Toll Gate RoboTitans made it to the FINALS and finished in 4th place overall. They received a trophy for making the Finals as well as a Judge’s award for skills in robot control—- we are going to need a new trophy case!
With their high finish, the RoboTitans qualified for the RI state championship, which be held on March 4th, most likely at NE tech. Mark it on your calendars - if you’ve never seen a robotics competition in person it’s incredibly fun to watch.
This is an impressive accomplishment for a rookie team - and Mr. Ricci, Mr. D’Andrea and the team deserve high accolades. A special shout-out for Coach Adam for a week of late night robot prepping and a 10 hr Saturday event!
The students who participated were:
Brayden Adler-Maranhao, Caleb Brazeau, Ryan Dacey, Domenic Calise, Jacob Pickering, Kyle Moro, Anthony Martinez, and Benjamin Tietze
