On Thursday, May 18, 2023, our very own Solange DaLuz received the RIFLA (Rhode Island Foreign Language Association) Student of the Year Award for 2023.
She was nominated by Mrs. Carolyn Lawrence, her French teacher, and was selected out of a pool of applicants from all public and private schools in Rhode Island. The award is accompanied by a $500 scholarship.
During her time here at Pilgrim, Solange has taken four years of French, in which she just recently received the Silver Seal of Biliteracy for having met the performance standard on an English assessment as well as on a World Language assessment. She has also taken a year of Italian with Mrs. Corpolongo.
We are so proud of Solange and wish her well as she plans to attend Bryant University in the fall.
