Whatβs happening in November?
November is all about STEAM! Title I is hosting family STEAM Nights featuring the Optibot robotics Kit from National Inventors Hall of Fame! Registration is required and space is limited for these events, please click on your childβs school to register. If the date does not work for your family, no worries! We will host another event with these same kits in the Spring!
Parenting Partners leadership groups are starting at each school! Please take this opportunity if you have not done so already to join the conversation with other adults from your childβs school. Joining Parenting Partners is proven to aid student achievement, something we can all agree we want for our children. Many past participants say that the part they enjoy most is the adult conversation and partnerships they form with others in their community.

Operation Thankful
Please join other Title I Warwick families at Hoxsie Elementary for an evening of holiday spirit and kindness as we make homemade holiday cards for local veterans in need. Mrs. Kadek, in partnership with Wood Items & More, would like to provide at least 100 holiday cards for RI veterans to be accompanied by handmade ornaments and gifts come December. Can you and your family help? These veterans often spend the winter holiday season alone, a handmade card from a child will no doubt warm hearts and spirits. Registration is not required for this event, please pop in anytime between 5 & 7 PM on the 9th.
Whatβs Happening in Our Schools?
The beautiful mural at Lippitt was honored recently in a ceremony to celebrate the community. Students and staff alike created pieces for this breathtaking work of art that will stand the test of time with the school itself. Pictured above are artists Peter Geisser, Mika Seeger, and Jade Donaldson. If you have a chance, stop by to take a look at this truly Warwick mural. Extended day afterschool programming has been running at Norwood since September and is beginning soon at Oakland Beach. Hoxsie is offering students the opportunity to register for multisports enrichment after school once a week through an outside agency.
The new Innovation Space and Library at Norwood is being utilized by students and we look forward to offering parents an opportunity to see the space, soon! Check out some pictures of grade four students utilizing the space during their STEM Friday enrichment block.
iReady Diagnostic testing is finishing up for the beginning of the year and we have put together a comprehensive resource to answer all your iReady questions. We also dive into why My Path is so beneficial for students, please remember to have your child pass 1-2 lessons per subject a week as a part of their daily homework.

Whatβs Happening in The Community?
Screenagers - Movie Event at Veterans Memorial Middle School Tuesday, October 24th from 6 to 8 PM. RSVP here https://fb.me/e/4MvHkGrJQ
βExploring the latest research and learning more about the personal experiences of teens and families, the film highlights the changing landscape of the substances themselves, offering solutions for how we can best empower teens as they face decisions about what they will and will not be influenced by. Screenagers Under The Influence delves into how the tech revolution has reshaped adolescence and its effects on substance use. The film debunks myths and depicts strategies parents and schools can use to encourage healthy decision-making, support teen mental health, set limits, and create healthy home environments. The film also includes many ways young people are using their wisdom and strength to help each other and themselves through this complicated terrain around substance use.
While most documentaries about substance use focus on severe addiction, Screenagers Under The Influence fills a pressing need for a film that explores more common scenarios. The film is grounded in teensβ current reality of being flooded by images on social media, movies, and TV shows about vaping, drugs, and alcohol.β

Storytime Spotlight!
Inspired by the many Indigenous-led movements across North America, We Are Water Protectors issues an urgent rallying cry to safeguard the Earthβs water from harm and corruption—a bold and lyrical picture book written by Carole Lindstrom and vibrantly illustrated by Michaela Goade. βWater is the first medicine. It affects and connects us all . . .β When a black snake threatens to destroy the Earth and poison her peopleβs water, one young water protector takes a stand to defend Earthβs most sacred resource.
We love this story and itβs a great way to honor Indigenous Peopleβs Heritage Month, in November! Enjoy a read-aloud of this story by the author, here
