Gary Coppolino director of special services
As Director of Special Services my role is to oversee our special education programming, act as our 504 coordinator, as well as supervise our School Nurse Teachers and Mental Health staff. I absolutely love the pride this community has. Coming from out of state, I was looking for a place that reminded me of home. I was looking for a place that made me feel the pride I had in the community I grew up in and Warwick has been that place to me.
Again, I love the pride this community has. Being in a place where people take such great pride in their community is extremely powerful and inspiring to me. The sense of community that I feel when I am here is like nothing I have ever experienced. At the end of the day I am happiest when I am with my wife and kids and just enjoying whatever adventure we have planned.

We wanted to take a moment to introduce our SEL Coordinator, Kristin Murray! "Social emotional learning is the process of developing skills that help you communicate, collaborate, and problem-solve effectively with others. When children have the opportunity to practice and develop these skills, they become more confident and successful in their learning. As the SEL Coordinator, I provide support to all of our schools in developing and using the most effective SEL practices that can be easily integrated into academic content." Learn more about all the wonderful ways we support our students and how Mrs. Murray is leading these efforts as they pertain to student's social & emotional well-being on our website: www.warwickschools.org/page/mtss-sel

Lisa Schultz, Ph.D. Director of Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment, and Multi-Tiered System of Supports
I am the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment, and RTI for the Warwick Public Schools system. RTI, Response to Intervention, is an educational strategy used in schools to provide effective and high-quality instruction while monitoring students' progress to make sure they are progressing as expected. I have been an educator in Warwick for the past five years, and an educator for more than half of my life now! I believe that education is the most important thing that we can offer to students, and I am honored to work in this role to help students grow both academically and socially in our excellent schools.
My favorite thing about WPS are all of the hard-working staff members. The teachers and staff work tirelessly every day to bring their best selves to the table for our students. This positive motivation helps inspire me to work harder for our students each day. I am an avid runner and love to sing. I also love spending time with my three young children. I am a lifelong learner and also stay busy reading during downtime.
Shout out to Gavin Gillooly, Benjamin Passarelli, and Brodie McKay pictured here with their choir director, Mrs. Soares, these phenomenal singers will be traveling to Washington DC early November for the All National Honor Ensembles, National Choir. Congratulations!

patricia cousineau director of elementary education
My role as Director of Elementary Education is to support and assist 14 elementary principals, over 500 teachers and staff members, and more than 3000 elementary students. I have been with Warwick Public Schools since 1989, first as a classroom teacher, more recently as the principal of Warwick Neck Elementary School and now as the Director. WPS is student centered and a great place to watch our students learn and grow.
My favorite thing about WPS is the sense of community that you feel when you walk into any one of our schools. While each school has its own culture and climate, you immediately feel a sense of school family. When I am not working, I enjoy time with my family and our two dogs. We like to hike, bike, kayak, and just be outdoors. Of course, I love to read, so you will usually find me with a book in my hands as well.
