Students enrolled in the WACTC Engineering, Drafting, & Design program had a unique opportunity to participate in the Rhode Island Manufacturers Association (RIMA) trade show held at the Crown Plaza on Thursday, November 16th.
The RIMA event allowed attendees to gain access to industry trends and enabled attendees to connect and network with manufacturers throughout the state of Rhode Island.
WACTC Engineering students were able to meet with some of our industry partners and begin the networking process for internship opportunities. Students were able to observe where their CTE training and career preparation can lead them, converse with industry professionals, gain knowledge of new and current technology in the industry, and see firsthand how the tools and resources in the engineering lab are being utilized in the industry.
This event included 65 manufacturing companies set up in the Crown Plaza Grand Ballroom showcasing their capabilities. Andrew Cahoon, Aidan DeClercoq, Luciano Niolet, Sam Sherman, and Joseph Simas represented the WACTC Engineering program well, and the business professionals were excited to see students making an effort to research and explore the industry, and engage in conversation with the industry representatives. Great work from our Warwick Area Career & Technical Center students & staff!
