Effective Mathematical Practices:

Warwick's mathematics instruction, K-12, is focusing on increasing student mathematical discourse in all classrooms across the district.

As a district, we are working on developing student discourse across all grade levels and content areas. This work is anchored in the NCTM's Effective Teaching Practices. In grades K-8, we use these teacher actions to activate student application of Math Practices. Teachers are encouraged to focus on "Facilitating Meaningful Mathematical Discourse" and "Posing Purposeful Questions" in their practice.
